Fe3 graded products

Ferrous metals

Ferrous metals are those made up mainly of iron and steel, the largest family in industrial recycling. They are magnetic, can be recycled indefinitely and are the foundation of the steel industry.

What we buy

Sources and intake criteria.

We collect ferrous scrap from steel structures, obsolete machinery, production lines, vehicles, household appliances, packaging, containers and any post-consumer or production waste that contains iron or steel.

Intake process
Weighbridge, inspection and primary sorting
Acceptance criteria
  • 01
    Radiation monitoring
Inbound and outbound, with sensors calibrated to local background radiation.
  • 02
    Trade-approved weighing
Certified weighbridge, with a gross/tare/net ticket for every transaction.
  • 03
    Visual inspection
The material is inspected before it is assigned to a lot and graded.
  • 04
    EWC code assignment
The right EWC code (European List of Waste) for the type and origin of the waste.

/ 01
210-211
High density, low residuals

Shredded scrap

Ferrous scrap processed in our 4,000 hp shredder. Separated by density and magnetism, with hand-picking for quality control, it yields a high-grade 210-211 fraction for steelmaking.

Input

Complex ferrous material with contaminants

Processed grade

Dense, uniform fraction, ready for immediate melting

Industrial applications
  • New steel production in electric arc furnaces
  • Alloy correction in steel products
  • Production of structural sections and reinforcing bar

Mechanical cutting of heavy and structural scrap

Sheared scrap

Heavy scrap cut with high-power shears (600–1,000 tonnes) to standard steelmaking sizes. We process large structures, machinery and industrial components.

Input

Structures, machinery, industrial offcuts

Processed grade

Scrap cut and sized to standard steelmaking specifications

Industrial applications
  • Melting at steel mills for heavy-gauge products
  • Benchmark industrial grade for steel mills
  • Compacted bundles for export
Full specification
/ 03
Uniform scrap of the highest purity

Low-residual scrap

Selected ferrous scrap with very low residual content: it ensures high purity and material quality, making melting more efficient and improving the quality of the steel produced. A uniform material, sourced from industrial new production scrap. Essential for special steels and demanding foundries.

Input

Industrial offcuts from new production

Processed grade

High-purity scrap with controlled residuals

Industrial applications
  • High-quality steel mills and special steels
  • Grey and ductile iron foundries with strict requirements
  • Alloy correction in electric arc furnaces

FAQs

What people ask us.

What is ferrous scrap?

Ferrous scrap is metal waste made up mainly of iron and steel. It comes from objects and structures that have reached the end of their working life, such as cars, household appliances, machinery and buildings.

Why does recycling ferrous scrap matter?

Recycling ferrous scrap is essential for conserving natural resources, reducing the carbon footprint and saving energy. It also cuts the need to mine iron ore and reduces the amount of solid waste that ends up in landfill.

How is ferrous scrap recycled?

The process covers collection, sorting, processing and melting. First, the scrap is collected and separated by composition and grade. It is then processed by shredding, cutting and compacting. Finally, it is melted in furnaces to make new steel products.

What products can be made from recycled ferrous scrap?

Recycled ferrous scrap is used to make a wide range of products, such as construction steel, cars, household appliances, metal packaging, machinery and other everyday items.
