We handle the whole end-of-life vehicle process: the paperwork with the DGT (Spain’s traffic authority), technical depollution, shredding and final recovery. Petrol and diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles, each with its own protocol.
We complete deregistration with the DGT and issue the certificate of destruction within 5 working days of receiving the vehicle. The regulations allow 30 days: we work well within that limit.
An end-of-life vehicle (ELV) is one that has reached the end of its useful life, whether through age, damage or the registered keeper’s decision, and must be processed at an authorised treatment facility (ATF).
As an authorised treatment facility, we take care of everything: the DGT paperwork, technical depollution, mechanical shredding and recovery of the separated fractions, always with traceability by VIN.

The rule is the same for everyone: if any documents are missing or invalid, we can’t accept the vehicle. It’s better to sort it out beforehand than to start a process that can’t be completed.
Special cases (lost documents, a deceased keeper or an authorised third party) are covered in the documentation section below.

In the simplest case (the registered keeper is present and the vehicle documents are available), three documents are enough: the deregistration request, the certificate of destruction and a valid DNI.
The rest are requested depending on the case: acting for a company, lost documents, a deceased keeper or a third party acting on the owner’s behalf.
Alberich form completed by the registered keeper or their representative
Signed by the registered keeper or a person holding power of attorney; completed by the facility once processed
Valid DNI, passport or NIE of the registered keeper and/or their representative
Required if the registered keeper is a company or other legal entity
When a third party attends on the registered keeper’s behalf
If any original vehicle documents are missing
When the registered keeper has died, the declaration goes with the certificate
Vehicle registration certificate and technical data sheet, if available
Private owners and companies need different processes: one is built around payment on the spot, the other around a trade account and batch handling. Both are held to the same strict paperwork standards.

This is the vehicle’s physical journey through the plant. Every ELV follows the same protocol, with technical variations depending on whether it is petrol or diesel, hybrid or electric, and the outcome is always the same: full traceability by VIN.
‘Nothing goes into the shredder until it has been fully depolluted. It’s the strictest rule in the workshop.’
By phone, by email or in person. We explain the documents you need and the drop-off or collection options that suit you.
Private owners bring the vehicle in themselves; companies can book a collection with our fleet of car transporters.
Registration number and VIN checked, paperwork reviewed, vehicle weighed on a trade-approved weighbridge and a batch created per VIN.
We check that the vehicle can be deregistered, then process and record the deregistration online. Urgent cases take priority.
Certificate of destruction and proof of deregistration sent to the registered keeper or company within 5 working days.
Removal of batteries, oils, fuel, coolant, air-conditioning gas and other fluids, depending on whether the vehicle is petrol or diesel, hybrid or electric.
The depolluted body shell goes to the shredder. Ferrous and non-ferrous fractions are separated from the rejects.
Case file closed per VIN with all the related documents: deregistration, depollution, transfers and recovery.
A combustion-engine car is not the same as an electric one. Each type has its own dedicated bay and technical protocol, and handling traction batteries is especially critical.
A conventional petrol or diesel vehicle. Standard depollution: removal of the lead-acid battery, oils, fuel, coolant and gases.
Adds handling of the auxiliary battery and, crucially, of the traction battery, which is transferred to an authorised waste management company.
The focus is entirely on handling the traction battery pack safely, under specific electrical safety protocols. Lithium risks are treated with the utmost rigour.
If your case is unusual or your company has specific needs (bulk online deregistration, fleet management), contact our ELV team directly.

We complete deregistration with the DGT (Spain’s traffic authority) and issue the certificate of destruction within 5 working days of receiving the vehicle. The regulations allow 30 days, but we work well within that limit and give priority to urgent cases.
At a minimum: the deregistration request (Alberich form), the certificate of destruction signed by the registered keeper and a valid DNI/NIE. If any vehicle documents are missing, a declaration of loss. If a third party is acting for the keeper, a letter of authorisation. If the registered keeper has died, a signed declaration (declaración responsable) together with the death certificate.
Only for companies with a trade account. Private owners must bring the vehicle in themselves or by tow truck. We don’t offer a collection service to private owners, for operational reasons and because vehicles are valued on the spot.
Yes. It is valued on its weight and its suitability for recovery (condition of the body shell, whether valuable assemblies are still fitted). Private owners are paid on the spot at a payment kiosk, using the barcode on the delivery note. Companies are invoiced under their trade account.
We can’t accept the vehicle: the rule is the same for everyone. It’s better to sort out the paperwork first than to start a process that stalls halfway. In the standard case, three documents are enough: the deregistration request, the certificate of destruction and a valid DNI.
We follow strict protocols: traction batteries are removed in a dedicated bay under certified electrical safety protocols. They are NEVER treated in-house: they are always transferred to authorised waste management companies specialising in batteries, with individual traceability by VIN and a waste management certificate.
Yes, as long as the VIN (chassis number) is legible and the vehicle can be identified. Written-off vehicles need extra care during depollution, as fluids or components may be damaged. Each case is assessed on arrival.
Yes. We regularly work with companies, vehicle registration agents and dealerships on whole fleets. We can organise batch collections with our fleet of car transporters and handle all the paperwork centrally.

Choose your route depending on whether you’re a private owner or a company. Either way: flawless paperwork and deregistration with the DGT within 5 working days.
Bring your vehicle to the Castellbisbal site with its documents. We weigh it, value it and issue a barcoded delivery note so you can be paid on the spot at the payment kiosk.
