Other metals

Under ‘other metals’ we group the alloys and metals with more specific uses: brass and bronze for mechanical components, lead for batteries and zinc for galvanising. Volumes are smaller than in the main families, but each has its own market and grading.

What we buy

Sources and intake criteria.

We collect these alloys in every form: industrial brass and bronze components, lead plates and batteries, and zinc parts. We sort them by alloy before processing.

Intake process
Weighbridge, inspection and primary sorting
Acceptance criteria
  • 01
    Radiation monitoring
Inbound and outbound, with sensors calibrated to local background radiation.
  • 02
    Trade-approved weighing
Certified weighbridge, with a gross/tare/net ticket for every transaction.
  • 03
    Visual inspection
The material is inspected before it is assigned to a lot and graded.
  • 04
    EWC code assignment
The right EWC code (European List of Waste) for the type and origin of the waste.

FAQs

What people ask us.

What are the main uses of lead?

Lead is used mainly in batteries, radiation shielding and solders, thanks to its density and malleability.

What makes zinc a valuable material?

Zinc is valued for its corrosion resistance and its ability to form alloys, which make it ideal for galvanising steel and for manufacturing electronic components.

How do brass and bronze differ in composition and use?

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, known for its ductility and corrosion resistance, while bronze is an alloy of copper and tin, valued for its hardness and wear resistance. Brass is used for mechanical and decorative components; bronze, for sculpture and tools.

Why does recycling lead, zinc, brass and bronze matter?

Recycling these metals reduces the need to extract new raw materials, lowers the environmental impact of mining and processing, and encourages more sustainable and responsible industrial practice.
