Alberich offers recycling for businesses and individuals, two types of customer with very different needs. For businesses, we buy their scrap, manage their waste, provide containers and lorries, and carry out industrial demolition. For private individuals, we open up the Scrap Center network, where they can bring their scrap or their car and be paid on the spot.
What recycling services does Alberich offer businesses?
For a business, recycling isn’t a one-off: it is a flow of material that leaves the factory, the site or the workshop every week, and it has to go out properly valued and with the paperwork in order. That is why we organise the service around what you need to solve.

Our business customers are very varied: manufacturers with production offcuts and turnings, construction companies, electrical installers with leftover cable, workshops and intermediate waste operators. What they have in common is that they want someone who takes care of both the material and the paperwork. We reply to every request within 48 working hours.
Can private individuals bring scrap to Alberich?
Yes. As well as our own three sites, the Scrap Center network has eight buying points: Badalona, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Rubí, Les Franqueses del Vallès, Vilanova i la Geltrú, Igualada, El Vendrell and Malgrat de Mar. You can bring copper, aluminium, brass, iron or other metals; they are weighed on a trade-approved weighbridge and you’re paid on the spot.
A practical tip: bring your material sorted. Clean copper, cable, aluminium and iron are each worth a different amount, and a mix fetches less than the same metals kept separate. If you have cable, our guide to recycling copper cable explains how to prepare it.
What if it’s my car I want to recycle?
Cars are also dropped off at a Scrap Center, either under your own steam or on a tow truck: we don’t collect from private individuals’ homes. As an authorised treatment facility (ATF), we handle deregistration with the DGT (Spain’s traffic authority) and issue the certificate of destruction in 5 working days. You’ll need your valid DNI (Spanish ID card) or NIE (foreigner ID number) and the vehicle documents. What resources does Alberich have?
Three sites of our own (Castellbisbal, which is our head office and main plant, La Llagosta and Constantí), the eight Scrap Center sites, our own fleet of lorries and a team of more than 170 people. At Castellbisbal we run the 4,000 hp shredder, the shears and the non-ferrous separation lines. Altogether, we process more than 300,000 tonnes a year.

Frequently asked questions
Does Alberich collect scrap from people’s homes?
Not from private individuals: they bring their scrap and their car to a Scrap Center. From businesses, yes, with our own fleet and containers from 1 to 30 m³ depending on the volume they generate.
How is scrap paid for?
Each lot is valued according to the metal, how clean it is, the quantity and the benchmark prices on international markets. Private individuals are paid on the spot, and businesses under their trade account. There is no single rate because no two lots are the same.
Are there materials Alberich doesn’t accept?
Yes. For WEEE, we don’t accept solar panels or electric water heaters, and scrap must arrive without other waste mixed in. If you’re unsure about a specific material, check with us before bringing it in and we’ll tell you whether we accept it and at which site.
How quickly do you reply to a business?
We reply within 48 working hours of receiving the request. If you tell us the type of material, the approximate volume and the location, the proposal will be more accurate.
