New line · Aluminium and radiators

A radiator
isn’t a mix.
It’s two metals.

Our aluminium and radiator line separates the copper from the aluminium in mixed radiators. That changes the price we can pay you: it’s no longer mixed material, it’s copper and aluminium as separate metals.

What goes in and what comes out

A line for what used to be sold as a mix.

It’s the newest of our seven processing lines and complements the cable line and the post-shredder separation line. It lets us buy material that, without it, could only be resold as mixed metals.

Material we buy
  • Vehicle radiators
    Cooling radiators, air-conditioning condensers and intercoolers from garages, vehicle dismantlers and our own ELV line.
  • Air-conditioning coils
    Air-conditioning coils and industrial refrigeration equipment, common in dismantling projects and plant refurbishments.
  • Industrial heat exchangers
    Heat exchangers and process coils, with whatever proportions of copper and aluminium each one happens to have.
  • Extrusions and process aluminium
    Extrusions, wheels, sumps and light-gauge aluminium, which also feed our production of secondary aluminium.
What comes out

    Recovered copper
    The copper from the coils is separated and graded together with the rest of our copper, ready for refineries and wire-drawing mills.
  • / 02
    Clean aluminium
    The aluminium comes out free of copper and contaminants, in the grade secondary aluminium remelters ask for.
  • / 03
    Secondary aluminium (FXR2)
    A product of our own: aluminium prepared specifically for secondary remelting, to a consistent specification.
